From the time she was 17 months old, Brooke watched Stacie, her Nana, cooking in the kitchen — beginning with Stacie clasping tiny, wide-eyed Brooke on her hip while she prepared a multi-course holiday dinner for the family.
Brooke developed confidence — and creativity — in the kitchen throughout her childhood. One of the highlights of her budding culinary career was winning the “Cupcake War” held at Stacie’s home, pitting Stacie, Stacie’s sister Michele, and Michele’s daughter, Chance, and Brooke in a contest modeled after the Food Network’s Cupcake Wars show.
